We Are Growing!!!
UPDATE: March 20, 2020
It must be the luck of the Irish! Our building permit from New Castle County was issued on Saint Patrick’s Day!
We are moving forward to finish the site prep and layout of the new building. A formal public start ceremony will be delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Be safe and stay health!

Historic Review Board Revised Submissions For Proposed Addition To
Ivy Gables
Since the business meeting of the Historic Review Board (HRB) on July 3, 2018, the building plan and site layout have been reevaluated in response to the comments received at the two HRB meetings and the meeting with the community. Substantial changes have been made to both and include the following:
The addition layout and orientation on the site has been modified from a bar configuration to an L-shaped configuration. This allows the building to be situated so that the viewshed to the stone farmhouse along Miller Road is maintained and the station path (alley) is kept intact.
The face of the addition along Millers Road is stepped back from the face of the stone farmhouse so that it is secondary to it.
The drive to the front entrance and drop off area has been relocated from the Millers Road to Swiss Lane — an existing two-lane road that currently serves as the primary access to Ivy Gables.
The L-shaped configuration reduces the length of the residential wing by over 40 feet and helps to reduce the overall massing of the addition.
Stone elements have been added to primary components on the facade and site walls to complement stone elements found on the existing farmhouse and Ivy Gables’ addition.
Additional landscaping has been added to help maintain the natural quality and character of the neighborhood.
